Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Role – Senior mechanical maintenance engineer
Location – Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Working hours – Monday to Friday 8.00am – 5.00 pm
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Salary – Paying up to £50,000 per annum

Our client is recruiting for a time served and well established engineer to join their busy maintenance team.
Applicants will be used to working within a manufacturing environment.
Main duties will include –
 To assist the departments maintaining machines and equipment.
 To diagnose faults with machines and equipment.
 To strip down machines and equipment when necessary to replace mechanical wear or even broken parts.
 To complete and update tasks using a maintenance based software
 To support and assist with service engineer visits.
 Maintain facilities of all sites.
 To liase with all off site contractors and be point of contact.
 To investigate and where possible offer suggestions for improvements and/or cost Reductions
 To assist other areas of the business in a Maintenance role as and when required.

Candidate attributes –
 Experience in using a range of general workshop machinery and equipment.
 Familiar with Production Machinery, and also have at least 5-10 years’ experience of performing a Maintenance role within a production environment, preferably on a 24/7 or at the very least, a shift type basis.
 Very good mechanical aptitude and be capable of stripping down Machines to replace items, such as Bearings, Conveyor Belts and other wear parts.
 Disciplined, self-motivated and be able to work as both an individual and as part of a team.
 Competent in Welding and Fabrication
 Required to work outside of normal working hours as and when necessary.
 Show flexibility and support to other areas of the business in a Maintenance role when needed.
 Strong communication skills, being able to discuss problems and issues with all levels of personnel
