TIG Welding role

Role – TIG Welding position
Location – Close to Thetford, Norfolk
Working hours – Monday to Friday- full time hours
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Salary – £22.00 – £24.00 per hour + overtime

Our client is currently recruiting for a TIG welder to join their busy industrial team. Candidates will need to be familiar with working on Stainless steel and Aluminium and will be self motivated and have excellent attention to detail skills

Main duties will include –
• Setting up and preparing welding equipment, including TIG, gas regulators, and power sources
• Selecting and preparing materials, inspecting and cleaning surfaces, and aligning metal workpieces before welding
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate welds
• Operating TIG welding machinery with precision, controlling current, voltage, and gas flow
• Performing welds according to specifications, ensuring joints are free from defects such as cracks, porosity, or incomplete fusion
• Conducting visual inspections and quality checks, performing repairs or rework as needed
• Collaborating with engineers to address issues with materials or assemblies, such as damaged ducts or components
• Maintaining safety standards and proper operation of welding equipment

Candidate attributes –

• Proficiency in TIG welding techniques
• Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Knowledge of welding equipment, filler rods, torch tips, and gas flow regulation
• Physical stamina to work in various positions and environments, including standing for long periods and handling heavy materials
