Role – Mechanical Design Engineer role
Location – Mildenhall, Suffolk
Working hours – Monday to Friday – Full time hours
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Salary – Paying up to £38,000 per annum

Our client is a leading manufacturer who is looking to add to their design team with a competent Solidworks industrial designer who is used to working with 3D Practises.

Main duties will include –

• Leading the design and development of production tooling and fixtures, working closely with manufacturing and senior engineers
• Creating and refining tooling using toolroom/workshop-based machinery
• Managing small-scale projects and ensuring timelines and quality standards are met
• Producing technical documentation including drawings, part lists, and usage instructions
• Assisting in the development of product test methods, including data analysis
• Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams such as Quality and Sales
• Occasionally travelling within the UK or internationally to support project implementation

Candidate attributes –
• Strong hands-on experience with toolroom/workshop machinery
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks)
• Either a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design, or a time-served background in Tool Design or Toolmaking
• Excellent communication and documentation skills (MS Office & Adobe tools)
• A self-starter with a practical approach and attention to detail
